选项分析：
(A)that the economy will avoid the recession that many had feared earlier in the year and instead come
【正确】 “that ”引导的从句作同位语正确地修饰了“confidence”，叙述了“信息”的具体内容，过去完成时的“had feared”与“earlier in the year(今年更早些时候)”语义搭配合理。
