选项分析：

(A)and she earned them at a time when aviation was still so new for many of the planes she flew to be

【错误】句子意思：“so……to……”无法像(E)中“so……that……”一样表达“如此……以至于……”，因此无法体现“many of the planes she flew were of dangerously experimental design”是“aviation was still so new”的结果，表意逊于(E)。
