Why does the GMAT exam matter? We kicked off 2014 in with a January Official GMAT blog post that looked at a recent article in Quartz that suggested that business schools could be ranked by the average GMAT exam scores of their students. The piece also referenced a study by the author that found within a select group of Fortune 500 CEOs, those who attended MBA programs with higher average GMAT exam scores were significantly more likely to earn more in their careers.

GMAC research shows — and we’ve been saying for years — that the GMAT exam’s proven ability to predict success in MBA programs is one of the strongest arguments for taking the exam and for taking the time needed to prepare to do your best. The GMAT matters. For test takers, this means taking the time to prepare to achieve your best score, demonstrate your true capabilities, and increasing your chances of getting into the school of your choice.

Our 2014 Official GMAT blog year in review provides you with the essential insights and GMAT test-taking advice to drive your success in the business school classroom and in your career.
